Henry James said, "Summer afternoon—summer afternoon; to me those have always been the two most beautiful words in the English language.” It's true. When I think of the words summer afternoon I think of driving top down, sipping Palomas at a beach house and the way everything I own has a faint whiff of Coppertone.
Summer afternoons, especially August afternoons have their own soundtrack. It spans the genres from classic rock to country to acoustic and lounge music. This weekend I curated The Happygirl August '17 playlist of songs that made me happy and reminded me of the lazy, hot, happy days of summer. I know when I listen to it on a snowy day in January, I'll think of the adventures of this August. I hope you enjoy it too!
